Q&A with Yuki Ellias
Date: Thursday, 20 March 2025
Time: 7:30pm to 8:30pm
Location: (Not) The Last Supper Room, Mary Lodge Bandra, Bombay

At Subko, our core ethos centers around harnessing the impact of storytelling as a unifying force that forges connections and spans cultural divides. A testament to this vision is 'ON AIR', our effort to spotlight multimedia narratives originating from the Subcontinent.

This month, we have partnered with Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF) to curate a week-long screening of independent films as part of their DIFF On the Road initiative. These films will screen every hour in our On Air rooms in Mary Lodge Bandra, Bombay and Ajji House, Bangalore, from 17 - 24th March.

Join us as we welcome the filmmaker of Lovely & Tip Top, Yuki Ellias, to our space for a live Q&A session moderated by Aakanksha Jadav on Thursday, 20 March from 7:30 to 8:30pm at (Not) The Last Supper Room, Mary Lodge Bandra, Bombay. We recommend you catch a screening of Lovely & Tip Top prior to the Q&A for an engaging conversation with Yuki. Lovely & Tip Top is screening hourly from the top of the hour to 30 min past the hour at our On Air rooms.

What to Expect:
7:30 - 7:45 pm : Introduction by Aakanksha Jadav and Yuki Ellias
7:45 - 8:30 pm : Q&A session

About Yuki: Yuki has performed across the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Italy, and India. Her notable works include Tim Supple’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Royal Shakespeare Company, and her award-winning show, Elephant in the Room, which ran at the Edinburgh Fringe.

About Lovely & Tip Top: In a dystopian Indian village, Lovely runs a quirky lingerie shop that thrives on enchantment. But as the Ministry of Belonging’s insidious schemes threaten the fragile pocket of tolerance she’s known all her life, Lovely must navigate shifting allegiances and reclaim her place in an uncertain, changing world. Her future – and her community’s – hangs in the balance. 31 mins | Hindi.
